Key challenge "Circulades" - Circulades, circular economy

The Occitanie Region's "key challenge" research funding system is intended to support and create sectors of research excellence in key areas, in line with the regional ambitions of the Green Deal, with funding of €2M over 4 years.

The ambitions of Circulades are to build a scientific foundation for the Circular Economy, and to trace original and differentiating paths towards better conceptualization, to thus enable the development of modeling and optimization tools for territorial stakeholders (companies , communities and citizens). The challenge is clearly to set up inter-science projects, centered on the Circular Economy, or one of its pillars.

36 laboratories in the Occitanie region and around 180 researchers joined the challenge which started at the beginning of 2022, led by the University of Toulouse.

Researchers came together during 3 Founding Conferences to increase their mutual knowledge and carry out co-construction work. Thus, while resisting the ease of a classic AAP, 3 major projects were refined to meet the ambitions of the challenge, then financed.

Circulades is a melting pot and a label which continues to welcome other projects (TIRIS MUTTEC project, co-financing of theses, theses from establishments and research organizations in Occitanie, etc.). A call for projects for funding research internships is still in progress! Do you want to join us?
