Actual position and research subject

My research project aimed at establishing methylotrophy—that is, the ability to metabolize methanol—in the bacterium Escherichia coli. More specifically, I investigate how metabolic and regulatory networks interact to generate an integrated response in both natural and synthetic methylotrophs when exposed to methanol in their environment. Building on this knowledge, my goal is to design and reconstruct synthetic regulatory networks that enable E. coli to grow efficiently on methanol. To address these questions, I use a multidisciplinary approach combining microbiology, synthetic biology, molecular biology, and transcriptomics, enabling an integrated analysis of methylotrophic metabolism regulation.
