For the first time, a study quantifies the harmful impacts of plastics on human health throughout their life cycle. It estimates that 83 million years of healthy life will be lost amongst the global population by 2040 if plastic production and use continues on the current trajectory. Published in The Lancet Planetary Health, this research was conducted by French scientists from the INRAE Occitanie-Toulouse center and British scientists.<\/p>\n
