Matthieu PEYRE-LAVIGNE<\/li><\/ul><\/div><p>\u00a0<\/p><p>La th\u00e8se, men\u00e9e dans le cadre du projet ANR SAVE, a pour objectif de r\u00e9pondre \u00e0 deux grands d\u00e9fis dans le traitement des eaux us\u00e9es urbaines : l\u2019am\u00e9lioration de la biod\u00e9gradation des micropolluants et la r\u00e9duction de la production de boue. Cette recherche s&#8217;inscrit donc dans les priorit\u00e9s de la Commission Europ\u00e9enne, qui pr\u00e9pare une r\u00e9vision de la directive sur les eaux r\u00e9siduaires urbaines pour int\u00e9grer les enjeux environnementaux actuels. La digestion ana\u00e9robie est un proc\u00e9d\u00e9 qui a un r\u00f4le d\u00e9terminant \u00e0 jouer dans ce contexte, lorsque l\u2019on s\u2019int\u00e9resse \u00e0 la chaine compl\u00e8te de traitements des effluents urbains. Cependant, ce proc\u00e9d\u00e9 pr\u00e9sente des limites, notamment en ce qui concerne la biod\u00e9gradation de la DCO particulaire et des micropolluants organiques, ce qui a suscit\u00e9 l\u2019int\u00e9r\u00eat de l\u2019entreprise SAPOVAL, partenaire du projet SAVE.<\/p><p>La configuration MAD-TAR combinant un digesteur m\u00e9sophile avec un digesteur thermophile microa\u00e9r\u00e9 a \u00e9t\u00e9 \u00e9tudi\u00e9 lors de travaux pr\u00e9c\u00e9dents qui ont montr\u00e9 une r\u00e9duction significative des boues et de certains micropolluants, par rapport au digesteur m\u00e9sophile conventionnel. C\u2019est pourquoi, ce travail de th\u00e8se s\u2019est focalis\u00e9 sur l&#8217;\u00e9tude de ce proc\u00e9d\u00e9 hybride visant une r\u00e9duction de la production de boues, une production de biogaz, une \u00e9limination des micropolluants, ainsi qu\u2019une diminution de l&#8217;impact environnemental des digestats en termes d\u2019\u00e9cotoxicit\u00e9 et d\u2019antibior\u00e9sistance.<\/p><p>Dans une premi\u00e8re partie, nous avons cherch\u00e9 \u00e0 reproduire les r\u00e9sultats ant\u00e9rieurs (r\u00e9duction de la production de boues) en pilote de laboratoire. En s\u2019appuyant sur la comparaison entre trois configurations\u00a0: une r\u00e9f\u00e9rence MAD (digestion m\u00e9sophile), une configuration MAD-TAD (couplage avec un r\u00e9acteur thermophile) et le MAD-TAR, nous avons cherch\u00e9 \u00e0 comprendre quels processus biologiques, physiques ou chimiques permettaient d\u2019expliquer les performances du MAD-TAR et la dynamique des concentrations des variables du proc\u00e9d\u00e9. A cette fin, un mod\u00e8le des proc\u00e9d\u00e9s bas\u00e9 sur le mod\u00e8le ADM1 a \u00e9t\u00e9 d\u00e9velopp\u00e9 sur le logiciel Aquasim. Sur la base d\u2019effets de la temp\u00e9rature, de la concentration en ammoniaque et de la concentration en oxyg\u00e8ne, ce mod\u00e8le a fait l\u2019objet de modifications pour expliquer la dynamique des activit\u00e9s des populations microbiennes.<\/p><p>Les r\u00e9sultats exp\u00e9rimentaux des 3 configurations de pilote montre que la configuration MAD-TAR permet une am\u00e9lioration significative de l\u2019hydrolyse de la mati\u00e8re particulaire (14 %,) contrairement au proc\u00e9d\u00e9 MAD-TAD, sugg\u00e9rant un r\u00f4le cl\u00e9 de l\u2019a\u00e9ration. Des changements dans la vitesse d&#8217;hydrolyse, des accumulations transitoires d\u2019AGVs, ainsi que des variations de la production de biogaz ont \u00e9t\u00e9 observ\u00e9s dans le MAD-TAD et le MAD-TAR en comparaison du MAD.<\/p><p>La mod\u00e9lisation a ensuite permis de tester deux hypoth\u00e8ses diff\u00e9rentes\u00a0: l\u2019une li\u00e9e \u00e0 l\u2019augmentation du taux de mortalit\u00e9 dans le compartiment thermophile, l\u2019autre introduisant un shift de population entre des microorganismes thermosensibles (Ts) et des microorganismes thermor\u00e9sistants (Tr). L&#8217;hypoth\u00e8se introduisant deux types de populations microbiennes Ts et Tr a montr\u00e9 une meilleure capacit\u00e9 \u00e0 repr\u00e9senter les donn\u00e9es exp\u00e9rimentales (l\u2019hydrolyse de la mati\u00e8re particulaire, production des AGV et de biogaz) dans le MAD-TAD. On peut donc supposer que des populations thermor\u00e9sistantes s\u2019implantent dans le proc\u00e9d\u00e9 du fait des passages s\u00e9quetiels \u00e0 haute temp\u00e9rature. Concernant le MAD-TAR, les r\u00e9sultats de nos mod\u00e9lisations ont montr\u00e9 que la fraction de DCO manquantes dans le bilan (21%) ne r\u00e9sulte pas d\u2019une d\u00e9gradation a\u00e9robie puisque la consommation d\u2019azote pour la croissance n\u2019est pas observ\u00e9e. La mod\u00e9lisation telle que propos\u00e9e n\u2019a pas permis non plus de confirmer une production ana\u00e9robie de m\u00e9thane dans le TAR. Nous n\u2019avons dons pas r\u00e9ussi \u00e0 comprendre les m\u00e9canismes de cette d\u00e9gradation accrue de la DCO particulaire dans le MAD-TAR. On pourrait proposer de reproduire l\u2019exp\u00e9rience avec une quantification plus fine des flux de carbone qui sortent du TAR, par pi\u00e9geage du CO<sub>2<\/sub> produit par exemple.<\/p><p>Dans la troisi\u00e8me partie de la th\u00e8se, quatre mol\u00e9cules ont \u00e9t\u00e9 quantifi\u00e9es : la ciprofloxacine (CIP), l\u2019azithromycine (AZY), l\u2019ofloxacine (OFL), et la carbamaz\u00e9pine (CBZ). Si les conditions op\u00e9ratoires n\u2019ont pas influenc\u00e9 l&#8217;\u00e9limination de la CIP et de l\u2019AZY, les configurations thermophiles ont permis une meilleure \u00e9limination de l\u2019OFL, avec une l\u00e9g\u00e8re am\u00e9lioration suppl\u00e9mentaire dans le cas du TAR. La CBZ, en revanche, a vu sa d\u00e9gradation am\u00e9lior\u00e9e dans les deux configurations thermophiles, sans distinction significative entre la pr\u00e9sence ou non d&#8217;a\u00e9ration.<\/p><p>Outre l&#8217;am\u00e9lioration de la d\u00e9gradation des micropolluants, l\u2019\u00e9valuation de la phytotoxicit\u00e9 des digestats a montr\u00e9 que les fractions liquides issues du proc\u00e9d\u00e9 MAD-TAD \u00e9taient plus toxiques que celles des configurations MAD et MAD-TAR. Cette toxicit\u00e9 semble \u00eatre li\u00e9e \u00e0 la concentration en azote ammoniacal, plus \u00e9lev\u00e9e dans le TAD en raison de l&#8217;absence d&#8217;a\u00e9ration, alors que l&#8217;a\u00e9ration dans le TAR permet de r\u00e9duire cette concentration par stripping de l\u2019ammoniac. Ces r\u00e9sultats soulignent l\u2019importance de traiter la fraction liquide post-digestion pour \u00e9viter des impacts environnementaux n\u00e9gatifs, notamment une consommation accrue d\u2019\u00e9nergie pour la nitrification lors de la r\u00e9introduction dans les syst\u00e8mes de traitement, voire l\u2019int\u00e9r\u00eat de chercher \u00e0 r\u00e9cup\u00e9rer ce flux d\u2019azote en vue de sa valorisation.<\/p><p>Concernant l\u2019antibior\u00e9sistance, les r\u00e9sultats montrent un effet prometteur de la thermophilie, avec une r\u00e9duction de la r\u00e9sistance aux aminoglycosides, bien que des \u00e9tudes suppl\u00e9mentaires soient n\u00e9cessaires pour confirmer ces r\u00e9sultats, notamment en \u00e9largissant le panel d\u2019\u00e9chantillons \u00e9tudi\u00e9s \u00e0 des effluents hospitaliers.<\/p><p>En conclusion, les r\u00e9sultats de cette th\u00e8se contribuent \u00e0 une meilleure compr\u00e9hension de la dynamique des populations dans les digesteurs hybrides. De plus, ils offrent des indicateurs permettant d\u2019\u00e9valuer les impacts environnementaux des
