This study reinforces Carbios and TBI's pioneering work in the field of enzymatic degradation of plastics, which had already led to an article published in April 2020 on the enzymatic depolymerization of PET (<\/strong><a href=\"https:\/\/www.nature.com\/articles\/s41586-020-2149-4\">https:\/\/www.nature.com\/articles\/s41586-020-2149-4<\/a><strong>).<\/strong><\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-element elementor-element-cc60907 elementor-widget elementor-widget-text-editor\" data-id=\"cc60907\" data-element_type=\"widget\" data-e-type=\"widget\" data-widget_type=\"text-editor.default\">\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<p>This work describes the engineering strategies deployed to ensure the development of an enzyme capable of biologically depolymerizing polylactic acid (PLA)-based plastic materials over a wide temperature and pH range, reflecting the natural variations found in the life cycle of domestic compost.<\/p><p>Cette \u00e9tude d\u00e9crit aussi les m\u00e9thodologies et d\u00e9fis rencontr\u00e9s afin d\u2019obtenir une incorporation homog\u00e8ne de l\u2019enzyme au sein de films en PLA \u00e0 haute temp\u00e9rature (170\u00b0C) tout en conservant suffisamment d\u2019activit\u00e9 afin de permettre au plastique produit de se d\u00e9grader compl\u00e8tement et rapidement dans des conditions de compostage domestique, compostage industriel mais aussi dans le cadre de digestion ana\u00e9robie (m\u00e9thanisation). L&rsquo;article met en emphase le processus d&rsquo;optimisation utilis\u00e9 jusqu\u2019\u00e0 l\u2019obtention d\u2019une enzyme capable de r\u00e9sister aux 170\u00b0C n\u00e9cessaires pour l&rsquo;introduire \u00e0 l&rsquo;\u00e9tat fondu dans le PLA par extrusion. Il est prouv\u00e9 que le nouveau mat\u00e9riau enzym\u00e9 se d\u00e9sint\u00e8gre et se biod\u00e9grade \u00e0 un rythme beaucoup plus rapide que les 26 semaines exig\u00e9es pour l\u2019obtention d\u2019une certification \u00e0 son utilisation dans le cadre de compostage domestique et qu&rsquo;il contribue \u00e9galement \u00e0 produire davantage de biom\u00e9thane, une autre source de valorisation des d\u00e9chets.
