Procaryotes\u00a0\u00bb d\u00e9die ses travaux de recherche fondamentale i) \u00e0 l\u2019analyse exhaustive du m\u00e9tabolisme central bact\u00e9rien afin d\u2019en am\u00e9liorer la connaissance et d\u2019en identifier les m\u00e9canismes de r\u00e9gulation et ii) \u00e0 l\u2019\u00e9volution adaptative des bact\u00e9ries sous contraintes m\u00e9taboliques. Sur la base de la connaissance acquise sur les r\u00e9seaux m\u00e9taboliques, le concept d\u2019usine cellulaire microbienne est d\u00e9velopp\u00e9\u00a0: de nouvelles voies m\u00e9taboliques sont cr\u00e9\u00e9es et le m\u00e9tabolisme est rationnellement modifi\u00e9 et r\u00e9orient\u00e9, afin de maximiser le rendement de conversion substrat\/produit pour la production biologique de synthons pour la chimie et\/ou l\u2019\u00e9nergie. L\u2019objectif plus appliqu\u00e9 des travaux de recherche est le d\u00e9veloppement de proc\u00e9d\u00e9s biotechnologiques innovants et originaux, utilisant les nouvelles usines cellulaires g\u00e9n\u00e9r\u00e9es, pour convertir des ressources renouvelables peu couteuses et respectueuses de l\u2019environnement en produits de base d\u2019int\u00e9r\u00eat pour la chimie et\/ou pour l\u2019\u00e9nergie. Ces travaux s\u2019inscrivent donc dans le concept des biotechnologies blanches, et celui plus g\u00e9n\u00e9ral de la
