RESEARCH TOPICS
My research interests are focused on understanding mechanisms governing acid lactic bacteria adhesion on intestinal mucus. Particular efforts are invested towards in vitro approach such as mucus-secreting cell lines and local rheology of the mucosal gel.
How and why strains can persist within the intestinal tract? Would biological determinant interfere and lead such persistence? Those are questions that some biophysical approaches would address from the population of bacteria scale to the molecular level of such process.
Expertise / interest can be listed as follows:
- Cell cultures (procaryotes and eucaryotes)
- Microscopy (fluorescence etc.)
- Optical designs
- Optical tweezers and force spectroscopy (Single-Molecule techniques)
- Molecular biology (mutants contructs, cloning/expression/purification)
- Microrheology (harmonic and particle tracking)
- …to be continued…
