Microbial Systems and Bioprocesses

The goal of this group is to develop multidisciplinary activities integrating tools and methodologies of microbial engineering, fluid mechanics, process control analysis and modelling to characterise dynamic behaviours of population-cell-bioreactor systems under controlled physico-chemical and physico-mechanical environments.


Tools developed by this group enable:


  • reproducible and well-characterised conditions of reactions permitting a holistic analysis for basic research,
  • new routes for biocatalyst and bioprocess analysis and development,
  • «biosystem analysis» including genomic and metabolic responses taking into account industrial constraints (environmental stresses, high cell density...),
  • new design of apparatus and global process improvements.
